Adult Education planning for 2009-2010 Added 06/21/09

The Adult Education Committee has developed a list of potential topics and themes for Adult Education for the coming year. Obviously, we don't lack for ideas! What we would like from you, however, is info about resources to address these topics.

Perhaps you have interest and expertise in one of these areas and would be willing to be on a panel

Perhaps you know of some other person who does not require a large honorarium

And, perhaps there is a topic for which you have great passion, but is not on the list.

Please look at the list & mark your selections according to the instructions. Print your completed form and place it in the offering plate or on the secretary’s desk in the office. Or e-mail it to the church office or the committee chair, dave.mcmahill@comcast.net

December 6 Advent Workshop

Bring your family and friends to this time of creativity and fellowship as we alll prepare for the Christmas Season.

December 13 Social Justice in Pandemic Preparedness with Medical Ethicist D. Debruin

We will discuss ethical issues that arise in the context of an influenza pandemic, focus on the relevance of social justice to pandemic preparedness, and consider strategies for meeting the obligations of social justice in this context.

December 20 Christmas Carols, Old and New:

Do you have an almost insatiable desire to sing Christmas Carols during the Advent season? Well, here's your chance to "haul out the holly." Our own Aaron Swestka will lead us in singing many favorite Christmas standards, as well as exploring some of the less well-known songs of the season in our New Century Hymnal.
